The last six weeks have been a whirlwind with the renovation of K and L's little stone house so it would be ready in time to celebrate the holidays. Buckets of white paint have covered the interior and L installed wide plank floors that we painted a glossy white inspired by this. It's a whimsy house, the walls aren't quite straight and you might feel a little draft if you stand in front of the old wood windows.
It's so sweet to see that the things K has collected over the years while living in France have found their place in this sweet little home. Vintage jars are filled with pantry staples and are lined neatly in a row on a shelf of an old armoire that we painted a soft grey. The jewel in the crown is the vintage chandelier that K found this summer at the brocante in Beaune that hangs in the salon.
This weekend we'll finish up with the last tiny details and begin our Christmas festivities. There are lights to string around the Christmas tree that will be nestled in an old French zinc laundry tub and cookies to bake. We'll be celebrating the first of many holidays with friends and bring in the New Year in this little house that love built.
Wishing you all the blessings of the season.
